There is nothing quite like the start of the New Year to fill you full of the need to start a fresh! I've certainly been feeling the need to start something new with my hook. Yes, I know I still have unfinished projects, that I should finish first but, but! Never mind the excuses, I've started a new project. The days after the New Year saw me pondering a little over what I consider to be one of my most successful projects since I started crochet. The winner hands down is my first granny stripe, made for Pippa when she was just a baby. She adores it and affectionately calls it her 'gankie'! So sweet! To go to sleep she sucks her fingers which have been poked through the holes of 'gankie'.

I know one day 'gankie' will stop being so important to her but right now 'gankie' is a big part of our lives! So, I've decided to make a 'gankie' for the settee. Something, a little different from her 'gankie', a little bit more grown up. Obviously bigger! A lot bigger! I raided my rather large acrylic stash and came up with this selection.

I'm excited!
xXx
Way to go! Looking forward to your progress. I'll be tackling my Great Romany Stripe that was supposed to be finished by winter 2012...sadly, 6 months later is still only a foot wide...
ReplyDeleteAhhh, every little girl should have a gankie. I am sure the sofa gankie will be well loved. x

ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous photo of your gorgeous girl. Thank you for sharing. My gorgeous 26 year old had a "kit, kit" it only disintegrated a couple of years ago whilst she was travelling in Thailand. I immediately was contacted and a replacement ordered. She has, since gone travelling again but the new blanket is too big to be tucked in her back pocket!
ReplyDeleteI have just found your lovely blog. Thank you.
Kindest regards linda
Oh that's going to be a treat, I made a rainbow blanket for our sofa and it's a joy to snuggle under together in the evenings!
