I've also been working away on my large Granny Stripe. I'm using King Cole Bamboo Cotton for this one. It's big, so each row/stripe takes a good while. I have 20 colours of the yarn and I'm hoping I can get four stripes of each colour to make a good sized blanket for the settee. The colours on this yarn are really lovely too, very saturated and it's beautifully soft.
I've also realised in my absence I haven't shared the new addition to our household with you. Oh yes, as if my life wasn't busy enough with four children, one dog and two cats, we now have a new puppy! His name is Deeks and I would love to see if anyone knows where the name comes from! He is a Border Collie and is growing right before our eyes. He is now a very lively 16 weeks and making his presence very well felt in our house I can tell you. No slipper, shoe, cuddly toy is safe anymore! Isn't he adorable with all his spots?
Well, I better go and return to my domestic duties, washing to hang out in the sunshine - I'm so glad the crazy weather has returned to sunshine again! And then four children are desperate for a bit of fresh air and some lunch!
So glad you are back! I love your giant granny and granny stripe blankets. Those colors are just Yummy! And your cute little new addition..Deeks is a cutie pie! Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteThe puppy is adorable and the name sounds familiar. Blankets look gorgeous too, was the yarn a local or online purchase? It's good to see you back I have been wondering how you are lately.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, look at Deeks! He is the cutest thing ever, thank you for sharing and puppifying my day. Also brightening: your awesome blanket WIPs, which look cheery-wonderful. I'd love to have that giant grannie draped over my lap right now. :)

ReplyDeletegreat choice of colours, love the giant granny, but don't you find there are still so many ends to weave in?
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely wonderful, Carol!
ReplyDeleteDeeks is very cute. I need to hurry up w/this comment before my 4.5 year old sees Deeks. Then I'll never hear the end of it as she wants a dog very badly.
I gave you a Liebster Award today on my blog!!

ReplyDeleteHe's adorable... my puppy likes to eat crochet/knitting/balls of yarn! My dreams for a crocheted throw for the sofa are no more!!! Glad you're back :-)
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute! Looks very mischievous. And I love the giant granny
ReplyDeleteWell hello stranger! It's so nice to see you back and that's one cute puppy!
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice colours, Carole! I'm always a bit envious of the colours/yarns that I see on other blogs, we have nice yarns in South Africa, but not quite the variety up north.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your granny stripe! I prefer to work big too...joining squares is often to tedious of a project for me to even begin! Your new puppy is super cute, but I don't know how you manage the time and still have crafty time. Impressive!
