Aww what a cute picture! My youngest is almost 3 and dropped his daytime sleep a few months ago. Sometimes he runs out of energy and I'll suggest a lie down on the sofa and he has an almighty tantrum and a few seconds later he's fast asleep. I'm not sure why he has to object so strongly but it's so funny.
