Work in Progress Wednesday

A very quick WIPW post from me today, I'm so full of busy right now! I've been working alot over the last few days, so lots of my spare time has been devoting to catching up on sleep and yesterday (after working a nightshift) we headed to Lightwater Valley for a day of rides and wet bottoms, but more about that another time :)

So the last week has been devoted to the Sarayon and it's almost there. I had thought I would need 20 repeats but I think 16 is going to be more than enough. So 2 straight sections left to do and then I will be on to the decreases. I tried to photograph this pinned out on our bed this morning so you could see how much progress I've made but the photographs were so bad I couldn't bring myself to upload them! So instead we have a 'scenic garden shot'........
When I was photographing this I realised that this is now 99% Madelintosh Sock yarn and 1% Lucy Labrador fur!!!! I can't be the only one who suffers with this 'blending' of natural fibres surely?

Please head over to Tami's blog to check out lots of other WIPW blogs :)

Oh and while you are here, please come and have a look at my new Ravelry group called One a Day. The idea is to pick a large project and work on one part of it everyday until it's finished. Maybe a stripe or a square a day! The lovely Alice from Crochet with Raymond and Cindy from Baxtersrest are helping me to run the group and we would love to see you there. I'll be starting my project next Tuesday and will start the blog links then too if you would like to join in with that too!

We are off shoe shopping for all four of the children today - wish me luck!

  1. I like the scenic garden shot :)

My knitting incorporates the yarn I am using, plus probably a few of my own hairs tangled in it (well, only if I', knitting for myself and can't be bothered to pick them out!)

  5. Beautiful color - it's going to be gorgeous! I had to laugh about the doggie hair - I'm so glad mine doesn't shed but if I'm knitting at my in laws, I get Golden hair all over!!

  6. No ma'am, indeed you are not. I told the Crystal Palace Yarn people last month during their scarf KAL that I had improved on the fiber content of their Mini Mochi, and it is now 1% cat fur. =D

  8. Love the garden shot of your shawl -- it's perfect! And, it's common knowledge that the presence of dog hair in one's knitting makes it both stronger and more lovely. At least, that's what I tell myself...

  12. So pretty. I had a look at the Ravelry Group but I'm already feeling overwhelmed. Maybe once I clear up some more of the things I have on the go! Good luck with the group though - 138 members already!

  13. I love the garden shot. I love any pictures that aren't of desert brown/tan. Your shawl looks lovely.

Four cats and three rabbits in this house. Nothing escapes getting a good coating of fur.

  14. I was looking at the Sarayon shawl pattern yesterday - it looks gorgeous, but my list of 'Ooooo I must make one of those's is too long...I'm starting my one a day tomorrow... I'm off to look at Tami's blog:)x

  15. So tempted by the one-a-day group, what a good idea! And I love the Sarayon, the border looks beautiful. Luckily, my cat's fur mostly manages to stay out of my yarn---I wish I could say the same for my hair, which gets worked into my amigurumi on occasion.

  17. That is looking really lovely! =) And yes, my projects are usually 80% yarn, 5% my hair, 10% dog number 1's hair and and 5% dog number 2's hair!

Also, I got the package from your giveaway in the post today, thank you so much! It's so lovely and I feel so lucky =)

  24. Your shawl is gorgeous and the colour is wonderful. I wish I could join your one a day group, but if I did one of the octogons for my blanket everyday, I wouldn't have time to do anything else!

  25. I love naturally blended fibers myself. My projects always have Siberian Husky blended in :)
