Poppy

I really can't believe it is a week since I last blogged. I really wanted to try and blog more but the days just seem to merge with each other now! Maybe when the schools break up I might have a bit more time in my day!

I finished the other page for my journal scrapbook. No photographs, just lots of journalling about parents evening at school and how the teachers think George and Imogen have got on.

Well, last Sunday we all went to Mum and Dad's and had a fab barbecue. I took this photograph of a gorgeous poppy growing in their garden. I had one just like this growing in my front garden only it got knocked down while Rich was repairing his car. I've always loved poppy's and I especially love the seed heads. I am fairly sure I have some artwork with poppy heads in that I did at Art School many moons ago!

This is Hamish, my Mum and Dad's dog. He is still a puppy and, like our dog Lucy, he really does have no concept that he is a dog and thinks he is one of the children. I love this photograph of him, because he is black it's quite hard to get decent snaps of him, but this one is quite good!

Unfortunately Katherine lost weight at her last weigh in, only an ounce, but it means her weight has stayed the same for three weeks now. We are not quite sure why as she is feeding really well (she is breastfed) so in an attempt to get her to gain weight she is having a small amount of formula everyday. We are also feeding lots through the day and hopefully the two combined will get her to grow. We are not having a weigh in this week but fingers crossed her weight will be better next time we go.

Another Page!

I was really eager to get started on my new album so I managed to get this page done last night inbetween running up and downstairs to re-settle Katherine back to sleep. I've got another page to do which will 'start' the album and I am hoping to get that done this weekend. I have even made a start on tidying through my craft stuff and now my ribbons are all bagged up in little baggies rather than the big jumble they were before. I really have no need to ever buy any more ribbon and I need to use some ribbon on every page to try and reduce the amount I have. The tidying will also give me a chance to remind myself what I have and then I can start using it!

So here's my page and isn't that photograph of Katherine just gorgeous, she looks so solemn!

I Scrapped!

It's taken me two nights to complete but here is my first scrapbook page in ages, in fact I think the last time I scrapped was in January. This is the title page for my new album/journal that I am planning on starting. I want to record just normal everyday life, so I am planning on lots of journalling and photographs but less emphasis on the details. I want the story to be the most important thing, not whether the page is fashionable or uses the latest range of papers. I've opted to go for 12 x 6 pages and my new album arrived this morning. It is an American Crafts D-Ring album and I even ordered extra page protectors! So here's to more scrapping!

Strawberry!

We had a family barbeque yesterday and Dad had his digital SLR camera with him. I took this photograph of a strawberry growing in our garden. I've enhanced it just a little with some filters I got from Kirsty Wiseman and I think it looks quite good! It had been raining (alot) which is why there is a drop of water hanging from the bottom. I'd love a proper camera and I'd also love to learn how to use it properly but the funds just don't stretch that far right now. Maybe one day though.

Smiles!

Lots of smiles today! Boy does this little bundle of cuteness take up such alot of my time, but when she gives you smiles like these it's all so worth it!
