Lavender Bag

I ordered myself a set of Addi Turbo needles last week to finish my baby blanket but they still haven't arrived, so I decided to set the blanket to one side and start finishing another blanket I started a while ago. It's a very dark green and it's a really chunky yarn, but I've knitted it on relatively small needles as I like my knitting tight. I bought four balls of the wool a while ago to do a blanket for the dog bed that would match the dining room, the dog bed then got moved so the wool kind of became redundant. I decided to try a pattern out anyway and so this little blanket got started. I've decided to finish it off and use it as a cat blanket for the basket that is in the downstairs toilet/cat room. I am just about to start the last ball off wool so it should be finished this week.

In the meantime I've made myself a little lavender bag with some merino wool. It's gorgeous to knit with, really soft and the colours are lovely. The flower is made by casting on stitches and then casting them straight off and then sewing the petals together. I did a row of eyelets near the top and made a cord with the same cast on/cast off technique to tie the bag together. It's now stuffed with lavender and it looks really pretty. Just not really sure where it should go now!

Well, I am now going to search the web and see if I can find a pattern for a knitted egg and do another little project, whilst trying to resist the temptation to go and buy more yarn!

  1. I just looked in to see if you were doing Shimelle's latest class on Home. I'm sorry about the adverse pregnancy symptoms, I remember this as being the time I was desperate for something new to wear (not something I experience when not pregnant!) but I hope you are getting some TLC from your nearest and dearest.

I am most impressed with the knitting, I loved knitting for my two babies, but then my fingers started hurting so I've resorted to paper and paint. Try and take a photo and do the journal, it's horrific how quickly memories fade.

    Wishing you well thoughts,
    Elizabeth
